Download the EatsVenture Cashier app for your store

The story

SituationYour new outlet in Bangsar opens next week. The counter has a tablet and a kitchen printer, but nothing is set up yet.

ChallengeOnline orders will start the day you open, and the team cannot be watching a laptop at the back to see them arrive.

MissionGet the EatsVenture Cashier app on the counter tablet, logged in and ready to ring for every order due today, from opening day.

The EatsVenture Cashier app is a mobile tool for existing merchant users to manage restaurant operations on the go. This guide covers what it does, where to download it and how to log in.

Quick answer

Download the EatsVenture Cashier app from the App Store for iOS or Google Play for Android, then log in with your store's Merchant ID, Username and Password.

Before you start

  • You are an existing Eats Venture merchant. The app is for running your stores, not for customers placing orders.

  • You have a cashier login for the store: a Merchant ID, Username and Password. A brand admin creates cashier logins in Web Admin under Settings > Cashiers > Create New Cashier.

  • The tablet or phone has a stable internet connection and stays plugged in at the counter.

Key functions

  • Order Alerts: get a sound and a push notification for every new order due today, and reminders while an order is still waiting for you. Orders booked for a later day wait in the Future tab without a push. See how to accept an order in the Cashier app.

  • Menu Updates: mark items out-of-stock or disable them in real time, for today or until a date, and the same for add-ons. See how to mark items and add-ons sold out.

  • Store Settings: under Settings > STORE SETTINGS, turn the store or each service (Delivery, Self pick-up (online), Self pick-up (Walk-in), Dine-in) off for today, and tap More >> to switch individual delivery or pickup time slots on or off.

  • Printer Support: send orders directly to network-connected kitchen printers. Add a printer by its IP Address and Port under Settings > Printer Settings, and choose whether it prints the sales receipt, the kitchen ticket or both.

Note

Earlier versions of this page said the app could adjust operating hours and enable pre-orders.

In the current app, Store Settings turns the store, its services and individual time slots on or off. Operating hours and how far ahead customers can order are set in Web Admin by a brand admin. To close the online store for a day or a few hours from Web Admin, see How do I close or open online store?

Download

Log in for the first time

  1. Open the app. You see Welcome back, and Login to continue.

  2. Enter the Merchant ID, Username and Password of your store's cashier login.

  3. Tap Log in. The app opens on the Order tab, with Overview and Settings in the bottom bar.

  4. When the device asks, allow notifications, so you hear new orders even when the app is in the background.

Ops tip

Under Settings > APP SETTINGS, turn on Auto print receipt on new order once your printer is added. Today's orders then print as they arrive, without anyone tapping a button.

Opening day, the first online order rings at the counter and prints in the kitchen.

If something goes wrong

  • "Error" with a code after tapping Log in: check the Merchant ID, Username and Password, then try again. If it still fails, ask your brand admin to check the cashier login in Web Admin.

  • "Server error [503]", "Please try again later.": the service is briefly unavailable. Wait a few minutes and log in again.

  • No sound for new orders: turn up the device volume and allow notifications for the app in the device settings.

  • "You must include a Ip Address." or "You must include a Port Number" when adding a printer: fill in both fields from the printer's network settings.

Mission accomplished: what you have achieved

  • Orders heard at the counter. Every order due today rings on the tablet, with reminders if it waits.
  • Menu control on the spot. Sold-out items come off online ordering from the same device.
  • Tickets straight to the kitchen. The network printer gets the order without anyone rewriting it.

Next new outlet, it is one download and one login.
