The story
SituationYour Raya hampers went live on your ordering site last week. Your Instagram ad brought in plenty of visitors, and many of them opened the hamper, added it to the cart and then left.
ChallengeWithout tracking on your ordering site, Meta cannot tell you who those visitors were, which ad brought them in, or whether any of them came back to buy. You are paying for clicks you cannot follow up.
MissionConnect a Facebook Pixel to your Eats Venture ordering site, so you can remind those visitors to finish their order and see which ads actually produce orders.
This guide gets you there in three steps: create the Pixel in Meta, copy its ID, and send it to the Eats Venture team, who install it on your ordering site for you.
Quick answer
In Meta Business Manager, go to Events Manager, click "Connect Data Sources", choose "Web", select "Meta Pixel" and click "Connect". Copy the Pixel ID from the Overview tab and share it with Eats Venture in your Telegram Support Group or at support@eatsventure.asia. The team embeds it into your ordering site.
What is Facebook Pixel?
Facebook Pixel is a small snippet of tracking code that you install on your website. It allows Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to monitor visitor actions, like page views, button clicks and purchases.
It powers event tracking and retargeting, enabling you to reach past visitors, optimise ad performance and unlock advanced campaign capabilities.
Why Facebook Pixel matters for retargeting ads with EatsVenture.asia
Your EatsVenture.asia ordering site is where the real action happens: menu views, cart additions, checkouts and purchases. With a Facebook Pixel installed, you can do the five things below.
1. Run retargeting campaigns to past visitors
Remind users who visited your menu but didn't complete their orders.
Example: "Hey, still craving our Nasi Lemak? Complete your order today and get 10% off."
Note
The offer in your ad has to be one your ordering site actually honours. If the ad promises a discount, create the matching discount code first, so the customer can use it at checkout.
2. Track conversions end to end
Pixel records when someone views a product, adds it to cart, initiates checkout or completes a purchase.
You'll see which ads actually generate orders, not just clicks.
3. Enable Facebook's machine learning to optimise ads
Meta uses Pixel data to learn which audience segments are converting.
This helps you automatically improve ad targeting over time, leading to lower cost per result.
4. Fuel Lookalike Audiences
Once Pixel collects enough purchase data, you can create Lookalike Audiences: new people who behave like your best buyers.
This unlocks top-funnel acquisition at scale, without starting from scratch.
5. Access rich event-based analytics
See detailed performance breakdowns like:
Add-to-cart to purchase drop-off
Average order value by ad
Ad-level ROAS (return on ad spend)
Before you start
You have a Meta Business account at https://business.facebook.com/, with permission to create data sources in Events Manager.
You know how to reach Eats Venture support: your dedicated Telegram Support Group, or support@eatsventure.asia.
You do not need a developer, and you do not need to edit your website. There is no Pixel field in Web Admin to fill in: the Eats Venture team installs the Pixel on your ordering site for you.
Setup guide
Step 1: Create your Facebook Pixel
Navigate to Events Manager
Click "Connect Data Sources", then choose "Web"
Select "Meta Pixel", then click "Connect"
Name your Pixel (e.g., "BrandName Order Site Pixel")
When prompted for website, skip it: EatsVenture will handle the integration
Note
These steps describe Meta's own screens, which Meta changes from time to time. If a button has moved or been renamed, look for the option to add a new web data source or Pixel in Events Manager; the result you need is the same, a Pixel ID.
CEO tip
Create the Pixel inside your company's own Business Manager, not an agency's or a staff member's personal account. The audiences and purchase history it builds stay with your business if you change agencies later.
Step 2: Get your Pixel ID
After creating the Pixel, go to the Overview tab in Events Manager
Copy your Pixel ID (a number from Meta Events Manager)
Copy the ID itself, a string of digits only. You do not need to send the Pixel's base code or any script.
Step 3: Share with EatsVenture
Once you have your Pixel ID:
Fastest: Share it in your dedicated Telegram Support Group
Alternative: Email it to: support@eatsventure.asia
Tell the team which brand the Pixel is for if you run more than one. Each brand's ordering site holds one Pixel ID.
The EatsVenture team will embed the Pixel directly into your ordering site, with tracking for:
PageView: when a page of your ordering site loads, including the shareable product pages you get from Copy link (see Run ads that link straight to one menu item).
ViewContent (menu): when a customer opens a menu item, with the item's price in MYR.
AddToCart: when a customer adds an item to the cart.
InitiateCheckout: when a customer proceeds to checkout.
Purchase: when payment succeeds and the order confirmation page shows, with the order total in MYR.
Opening a menu item also sends a custom event named Menu Page, which you can use in Events Manager in the same way.
Marketing tip
The item ID that ViewContent reports is the same ID your Facebook Commerce Catalogue feed uses for each item. Set up both, and Meta can show each visitor the exact dishes they looked at in a dynamic ad.
Check that it is working
After the team confirms the Pixel is installed, open your ordering site in a browser, open an item and add it to the cart. In Events Manager, your Pixel's Overview should start showing the PageView, ViewContent and AddToCart events. Meta can take a little while to show new activity.
From here, every ad you run can be judged on the orders it brings in, not the clicks.
If something goes wrong
No events show in Events Manager: check that the Pixel ID you sent matches the one on the Overview tab, then ask the team in your Telegram Support Group to confirm it is installed on the right brand.
PageView shows but Purchase never does: Purchase is only sent when payment succeeds and the customer reaches the order confirmation page. Place a real test order to check it.
Events stop after you created a new Pixel: your ordering site holds one Pixel ID. Send the new ID to the team so they can replace the old one.
Done: You’re now ready for smart retargeting
With Facebook Pixel installed, every visitor interaction on your EatsVenture ordering site becomes trackable and actionable, unlocking a powerful layer of behavioural-based advertising to drive higher conversions and customer retention.

Mission accomplished: what you have achieved
- Visitors you can reach again. People who opened the hamper and left can now be shown a reminder ad.
- Ads judged on orders. Purchase events tie each paid order back to the ad that started it.
- No developer needed. The Eats Venture team installed the Pixel; you only sent an ID.
- Ready for dynamic ads. The item IDs line up with your catalogue feed when you add one.
Next time you launch a campaign, the tracking is already in place from the first click.
